Scottish Premiership side Rangers drew with Young Boys but they still qualified for the round of 32 while Celtic were beaten 1-0 by Cluj but had already guaranteed first spot.
Manchester United took the lead in their match eight minutes after the break when Ashley Young finished off a fine team move from an acute angle.
United then doubled their advantage five minutes later when Greenwood swept the ball home from 20 yards.
The Red Devils were awarded a penalty when Jordy Clasie fouled Greenwood in the box. Juan Mata converted from the spot in the 62nd minute to put United 3-0 up.
And Greenwood got his second and United’s fourth two minutes later with a low left-footed effort from the right side of the box.

After Emile Smith Rowe had seen his cross-shot turned away by the foot of goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart, Bukayo Saka had three good opportunities to put Arsenal ahead but failed to beat the in-form keeper.
As the half-time whistle approached, Saka saw an effort from the left of the box saved before Bodart produced another good stop to keep out Nelson.
Arsenal fell behind two minutes into the second half when Samuel Bastien’s strike took a huge deflection off Sokratis Papastathopoulos, wrong-footing goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and landing in the back of the net.
Arsenal found themselves 2-0 down in the 69th minute following another deflected effort from the hosts.
Selim Amallah’s strike from the middle of the box took a big deflection and beat Martinez.
The Gunners then scored two goals in the space of three minutes to get back on level terms.
